Cheating Scandal Shows How Privileged Kids Fake Disability

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/how-some-las-privileged-kids-fake-disability-cheat-system-1195212
“I have seen more than a few of my classmates flock to specialists with the hopes of being diagnosed with a disorder that would qualify them for extra time on their entrance exams,” Glassman wrote. “Extra time has been exploited by some wealthy families who use their easy access to expensive medical professionals to give their children an upper hand in the college admissions process.”

to be able to sue for not recognizing his "disability" when he tried to take the LSAT.

Fortunately, the testing enterprise pushed back, resisted the demands, and the kid went on to find something else to do.

You can go online and find out what to tell your regular doctor.
I know two professors. Decent folks in spite of it. They say every class has several who qualify for extra time. In regular state schools too. And even before college

And it's not just with academic testing. Ever look around and see all of the Handicapped Parking Placards? True, some disabilities are not obvious, like heart or lung conditions, but I know people who have gamed the system to get a placard. Really makes it hard for those who really need a special place to park -- like someone using a van with a loading ramp for a wheelchair.

My dad was in a wheelchair for the last few years of his life. When going to the doctor etc. I had to park in a regular space and struggle to get the chair between my car and the one next to it.

We go to the Y to use the pool for her prescribed exercises. Often, there simply is nowhere to park to accommodate her needs. So I drop her off and park away from the entrance. I have a placard, too, but I am not as bad off as she is...so I walk the distance because she can't. The cars parked in handicapped without the placards are the ones that really, really get to me. Have you ever seen one of those cars towed? I haven't!
