After 9/11, which major Republican figures blamed Democrats/Democratic policies for 9/11?

I remember Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell blaming it on America's tolerance of gays and on abortion rights.

I remember Rush Limbaugh saying it was the fault of Bill Clinton.

Any other major Republicans blame 9/11 on a Democrat or Democratic policies?

That line of bullshit was heard all over cable wherever a RW talking-head appeared. I even got into a verbal back-and-forth with an old dude at the gym over this very point. He was intractable, as most RWers are, so I just left him with, “On Bush’s watch. It happened on HIS watch!”

It was Clinton's fault because Bush was only president for 8 months.

But, the 1993 attack on the WTC was also Clinton's fault because he had been president for 8 weeks.

Whatever the charge(s), it’s Bill Clinton’s fault, Hillary Clinton’s fault, Obama’s fault. And it’ll be the fault of the next Democratic nominee for president, whoever it is.

You’d think most people would finally catch on, but the lines between left and right have only hardened, until there’s not much of a center left.
