Here ya' go - while New Jersey, supposedly on the cusp of legalization, still has the highest arrest rate for pot possession in the nation, a police union president peddles drugs that are many, many times more dangerous than pot.
And you know if the union president is peddling it, everyone is doing it.
And I used to wonder why cops are so hostile these days - it's "roid rage" - it's worse than road rage.

"The president of a local police union was arrested last month and charged with selling a banned substance commonly abused by bodybuilders and athletes, NJ Advance Media has learned.
Ocean Township police Officer Ryan Vacarro was busted in the township on Feb. 19 for selling drugs not lawfully prescribed or administered in May 2018, according to a complaint summons. Ocean Township is a town of nearly 30,000 residents just east of Asbury Park.
The complaint does not say why it took so long for authorities to arrest Vacarro, and the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office declined to comment on the allegations.
Authorities say Vacarro was dealing more than 100 doses of Clenbuterol, a steroid-like substance used to treat respiratory diseases for horses. However, it is also on the list of banned substances by the World Anti-Doping Agency because of its performance-enhancing abilities. According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, Clenbuterol is abused by bodybuilders and athletes for its ability to increase lean muscle mass and reduce body fat."

(2,484 posts)But just like us commoners, LEOs get to suffer under DEA scheduling nonsense.
I hope he gets the same sentence as the average suspect he arrested for the same charge. Plus more for violating public trust.

(58,648 posts)I try to be supportive of unions, but shit like this works against them. I'm sure the RWers will run with that angle to spout their "all unions are bad" meme.
Of course, the cops that are buying and using the shit are much to blame also. And yeah, the roid rage angle probably has some basis in reality, too. Overuse of PEDs can screw with the mind.

He's definitely doping!

(1,220 posts)A union president!!! It's obvious what kind of "advice" he was giving his members. These armed roid heads are pulling people over with the full force of law and the police union headed by a guy like this to back them up whatever they do.
Little wonder they waste so many people over nothing. In Chespter PA the other day, cops were responding to a St. Patrick's Day party. I think this roid head went a little over the line. When did a girl touching you to get your attention become atrocious assault? When this current generation of roid head tough guys somehow managed to get badges and guns.

What a fucking punk, IMO.
