I'm not talking Fox News...it's expected from them. Morning Joe today was non-stop hand wringing, and it probably is an absorption of Republican talking points and wish list thinking.
These are the outcomes that are being predicted:
1). No more indictments from Mueller? That means Don Jr., Ivanka and Jared walk away without a scratch. Of course, this is speculation, not factual reporting.
2). Barr will sit on the report, and Trump is angling to have the report dumped altogether because he's trying to paint it as an "illegal" investigation.
3). Predictions that Trump simply needs to get his 270 Electoral College votes to win, becoming the only president in history to get two terms without winning the popular vote. I had the impression that Scarborough viewed this as a cakewalk for Trump.
This thinking is permeating shows beyond Scarborough...I don't accept it. I see that these things "could" happen, but to accept it today is more than I'm willing to do. If you want to preserve your sanity, I advise abstaining from cable news. MSNBC is particularly odious on the weekends. As always, the Rachel Maddow Show and Last Word (Ali Velshi filling in for a vacationing Lawrence) are side-stepping most of this.
