Somthing that bothers me about the Democratic party winning future elections.

If we as a party are going to run on healthcare for all in some form or another should not there be a detailed plan to accomplish this ? We have has how many years to come up with such a plan. How do we push this if we can't answer the questions how it works ? How does it get paid for ? Will private insurance still exist ? We should have been getting all the best and brightest together for the last 20 year at least to come up with a workable plan. Everyone seems to agree the ecomomy is doing so well (not me) and it seems trump is somehow getting all the credit for it. I don't see any push back on this, I don't see anything trump has done to be able to take credit for it. the voters need to know this. Sorry for the rant but I could go on .

we give the other side ALL our ideas and they pre-position to destroy it before it happens. I think we should do what the gop does, say stuff we want, and leave the details for another time. We shoot ourselves in the foot by talking stuff to death. The gop is so lazy, all they have to do is sit and watch tv and take pot shots, doing absolutely ZERO to make our country better. It's easy to criticize, far more difficult to force the gop to do any real constructive work.
How about this....What's the gop plan? And talk THEM to death about it. Why always us as the answer people? The gop has it figured out. Maybe we need to harden up a bit...or a lot, and quit doing the brain-work, for nothing. Just a thought...generally.

Initially had a plan for a public option, and rules to stop insurance companies from jacking prices. How's that going?
Whats the gops plan?

If we cant take the Senate back, we will never get the judges we want in place. We will get the judges the GOP allow us to have.

The Senate map in USA is heavily stacked against Democrats. We dont live much in Nebraska or Wyoming. Both states have 2 senators each. We live in California or New York and they have 2 senators each.

In addition, the conservatives ran operation red map back in the 2010-2013 time frame that effectively setup many gerrymandered districts that is making it much harder for Democrat candidates to get into office.

These 2 things should be at the top of the list for the Democratic party.

Good idea. We have gotten ballot initiatives re gerrymandering in several states, lets get busy re-drawing them.

worry about the details. Nancy Pelosi did it for ACA, so why not for single payer?

As if the gop wants perfection in anything. They want us to talk about it, so they can criticize. We need to switch up our approach imho.

not so well for the majority. As for healthcare for all, the problem is the idea itself is overwhelming and will face huge across the board resistance. It all sounds good on paper and 30 second campaign segments. The practical implementation is plagued with peril. Obamacare was a possible transition vehicle for this to happen and we saw election results in 2012 and 2016 that capitalized the opposition's viewpoints. Basically a single-payer program could be a hybrid healthcare system where insurance companies can still exist but all finances/claims have to run thru a Medicare type entity. The driving force in the massive run up in healthcare cost is the hundreds of insurers all with their own claim forms, coding and paperwork. Eliminating that alone can be a cost saver. Democrats have problem with messaging and taking a "big idea" and condensing it into easy to understand ideas.

None of this can be done with both the healthcare industry AND insurers not supporting the move

Just a message we have to hammer home. With examples of how they’re sabotaging the ACA, on a backdrop of Dolt 45 promising his “better healthcare.”

is the same as trump saying I will have the best healthcare and it will be cheaper . He did not deliver and yes that should be hammered home everytime a Dem is before the camera . But if we don't have a workable plan thet everyone is onboard with then the attacks from the repukes will be correct.

If it works for them, then why do we care about the lead up? We only give them a platform to poison if we let them know the details. imo.
