It's about Vikings, so there's violence and blood, but it's very funny. I heard about it on NPR yesterday and thought I'd try it.

1. It's absolutely hilarious. It's like Monty Python meets The Vikings.

I've discovered that Scandinavian humor is very dry and deadpan, even more so than British humor. This show is a great example of that. Interestingly, each episode was filmed twice, once with the actors speaking Norwegian and again with them speaking English - so they could more easily sell the series to the BBC without adding subtitles. It's pretty violent sometimes but it's a kind of cartoon violence that's funny even when it's awful.
