Senate: 53 Republicans, 47 Democrats
Although it was a near-party-line 54 to 45 vote, Democratic senators Doug Jones of Alabama; Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona; and Joe Manchin of West Virginia broke with their party and joined their Republican colleagues in voting in favor of Barr's nomination. GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky voted no, citing Barr's record on privacy and surveillance issues.
I KNOW - water under the bridge - but he does seem to be the effed up key to this at this moment.

(13,943 posts)Yes, I know the mantra about Red States, but sometimes, we need to get the Blue Dog to stand by us when it counts, especially as it takes us a lot of resources to stand by them, especially they they love to stand with the same people trying to make us fall and keep us down.

Shows how not having control of Senate affected everything.
