Trump and the GOP have a massive P.R./propaganda campaign going on right now ....

.... trying to tell us that the Mueller report cleared Trump but we haven't even
seen the report yet. The only thing that has been released is Barr's spin job on
the Mueller report and McConnell is right now blocking the release of the report
too.

This is what they did with Kavanaugh too. They declared that an investigation
into Kavanaugh past had cleared him even though they really didn't have
an investigation because they didn't interview Kavanaugh or any of his accusers.

The NY Times bought into this crap with their headline yesterday .... something like
Mueller report clears Trump of collusion with Russia.

Used to be a chapter in each Congressional district. Now there are several chapters in each district. We issue “asks” for our reps, both Senate and House, and much of it right now involves demanding the Mueller investigations - AND all supporting documents- be released immediately. Also, demanding that both Mueller and Barr be summoned to the House committees to explain themselves. And when we meet with our reps, and/or their staffers, we personally deliver these asks right to their faces.

Actually, it’s an easier ask for the House, since it’s Democratic-controlled. For Senators the ask is more like “push your friends in the Senate (including GOPers) to get these two men in to testify and explain themselves. Because WE-THE-PEOPLE want answers AND WE-THE-PEOPLE PAID FOR THAT REPORT.”

I know this to be true because the Indivisible group I belong to teams up with a larger neighboring Indivisible group, and we coordinate on these asks. Then those asks get emailed out every week to all our members and friends, and the other group’s members, also. An ask for every weekday, including a suggested script. Plus a link to the background info we used if anybody wants more info, and so they can see it’s a legitimate and informed ask.

And I’m on the team that writes them every week.

That's how Democrats flipped so many seats in 2018, not by talking about Trump/Russia, but by addressing local issues.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't investigate the Russia situation, it deserves attention. But for most people, it's local issues that move the needle.

I've been canvassing for a local mayoral candidate for about a month and had hundreds of conversations with citizens. Most of them here say their top issue is either improved education or better access to healthcare. Not a single person has said Trump or Russia.

Democrats have an uphill battle because they have to fight against Republicans and the corporate controlled far right M$M.

Here is what is scary; as long as Republicans control the White House, they control everything. Democrats need a veto proof majority to pass anything. What is scarier is that Trump and McConnell have been packing the courts with Nazi judges who are there for life. They are going to add judges to the 9th circuit to make even it a Nazi district.

Socialism doesn't sound so bad to me compared with authoritarianism.

Hell, Trump might not even have beaten Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Bush in the primary without Russia's help.

I don't have a magic formula for countering this, but I thought the Morning Joe crew had an interesting take today - stop treating him like some sort of outrageous creature, because that just acts as rocket fuel for his base. Just begin treating him like a normal politician, who has proven himself as a failure. accepting the fact that the M$M is complicit with the far right who happen to be Republicans.
There is really little difference between Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. They all push the same right wing narrative. Try this at the top of the hour in the evening. Click from one channel to the other and you will see they all use the same talking points, use the same key words and phrases. It's a good cop bad cop routine. CNN and msnbc simply put a liberal slant to the right wing narrative. American oligarchs control the M$M not the Republican party. The Republican party is owned by the oligarchs.

I go back to when Phil Donahue was anti-Iraq war and Tweety was pro war, msnbc fired Donahue. It isn't that ratings are the reason either, ratings are secondary. Keith Olbermann was very popular, why did he get fired? Why did msnbc fire popular Brashear, Ed Schultz, Dylan Ratigan, Harris/Perry? The answer is because they all strayed from the far right narrative. There are 2 people who stray from the narrative who I watch today, Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow, they better watch their backs.

The real problem is income inequality, which gets ignored. I am on Medicare and because of the Sequester that was passed in I think 2013, every year since, 2% reimbursements to Medicare doctors gets shaved.

We HAVE TO vote him OUT. His base is gonna be super motivated. Heaven knows why, since he wants to take their health care away, and A LOT of them are older and with pre-existing conditions and on Medicare and dependent on those benefits.

Our Dems are smart to stay focused on health care and protecting access to affordable health care - most available because of the Affordable Care Act. It evidently hasn’t occurred to trump that taking away that pre-existing condition coverage might not appeal to his base. He evidently doesn’t realize how big a gift he’s given the Dems for 2020.

If we DON’T take FULL advantage of that, then frankly we don’t deserve to win.

And, of course, Trump is lying about the report.

There’s a story in USA Today today about how Trump and the GOP “look to settle a score with Democrats, over Mueller investigation.”

I am not disheartened today. I am angry. The report changes nothing.

Too much is at risk. Too much mindless vengeance seeking -- against anything Obama, against anyone who lacks fealty, and especially against those who openly and publicly resist.

I'm ready fore our own yellow vest insurrection frankly.

By contrast, Russia's state-owned RT branded the entire probe one of the "greatest hoaxes in US history" and questioned whether now the "Russiagate narrative's peddlers" would be held accountable -- especially the "Democrats and mass media" -- "for weaponizing the Mueller probe against Trump, ruining US-Russia ties and the lives of many Americans."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quick to point out in statements to Russian media: "We believe the accusations that continue to be made against Russia in terms of interference in the US electoral processes are unfounded because even the brief information that is listed in the summary [of the Mueller report] has no basis." He apparently could not resist concluding with a typically Russian turn of phrase: "It's hard to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if it's not there."

We, the American public regardless of political confession, have ZERO reason to just trust the word of Barr. Why won't they release the report? The same reason why trump won't release his taxes. Both contain evidence of MASSIVE criminal activity. This government, if you still want to call it that, is wholly illegitimate. I say the people start treating it as such.

Mueller was the exception, I hoped, but I and many others appear to have been way wrong and he did nothing about the principals involved - drumpf and his family, in true russian repug protection mode. Why did he do this, was he forced to not investigate them thoroughly, or did he truly investigate them, find dirt, but Barr's lying or Mueller didn't care that drumpf jr. & Kushner did worse than Manafort on lying to Congress and FBi? Or is Mueller really ok, did his job thoroughly (as far as he was allowed, which didn't include any family) but Barr's a total sleazebag liar?

The longer they can delay releasing the entire report, the better it will work. And I think they can delay if for quite some time.

BTW The Mueller Report must be devastating for Trump .... Barr wants to
now only let people see a rewrite of the report.

of respectability to spin the narrative for the Republicans during big stories. I've notice this with such stories as the Tax Heist, Kavanaugh, and the Mueller report. Slimey as its editorial pages are, the WSJ's journalism has a good reputation, but its editorial board (!) lied and spun for all they were worth during Kavanaugh.

I wish I've been watching closer and started keeping a list early on. But we sent PBS Evening News our first-ever complaints because of repeatedly misinforming viewers during Kavanaugh by omission of critical details. This week 60 Minutes opened its Sunday program with a one-line important special announcement that the Mueller report EXONERATED Trump.

Quick, cover your ears, Grandma! Turn off the TV!

A bigger story for most people is how to provide medical care for a loved one with a pre-existing condition if Obamacare goes away. In the eyes of the insurance industry, more of us have a "problem" that will cost more to insure (ching, ching, up go profits) than don't.
