Just out of curiosity, do we get to complain that one of the factors slogging the economy,

is the fact that millions of dollars are being funneled into campaigns?

I mean, if the US really were financially in the dumps, wouldn't it be a National Security issue to divert the money where it's needed the most?

our GDP is $15 trillion or so.

The ad spending is actually stimulative (creates jobs). Even the hit piece on Obama playing in theatres created jobs.
