What Ever Became of George W. Bush?
This may seem like an odd question, but the other day I found myself wondering what had become of George W. Bush. The answer, of course, is nothing. He lives in Dallas with Laura and
that's about it. For all practical purposes, he's disappeared. You'd hardly know that for eight years he was one of the most polarizing presidents in recent memory.
................
..........neither party wants anything to do with him. It's not surprising that Democrats still think of him as the Frat Boy President, one of the worst of all time, but what is surprising is that Republicans largely agree. A guy who was hailed in 2000 as the first real conservative since Reagan, and in 2004 as the second coming of Winston Churchill, was all but dead to the GOP by 2008. He was just another big spender who led the economy into a tailspin and then seemed to have no idea what to do about it. By the time his second term finally petered out, his reputation was toxic on both sides of the aisle.
...................
It's just sort of astonishing that a guy who was president only three years ago, and who loomed so large for both liberals and conservatives, has disappeared down the memory hole so completely. In the end, for all his swagger, he was a mile wide and an inch deep. Once he left the White House, it was as if his entire presidency had just been a bad dream.

(9,644 posts)And so does everyone else.
But we need to make him the symbol of the republican party. Someone with better photoshop skills than I, should splice his face onto the republican elephants head.
And rMoney's head on the elephants other end.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States
One 20th century president was ranked below him - Warren Harding. The rest below him were 19th century.
This is actually an improvement on the previous 3 years, where he was in the high 30s (out of 42 or 43).
