I was watching a program called States of Undress and this episode was about the state of Fashion in St Petersburg Russia. It's a investigative docu-series focuses on the political and social circumstances surrounding fashion around the world.
Holy Shit!! Yes the fashion industry was interesting but the mentality of young Russians of both sexes was a freak out!! Very mysognistic culture, very patriotic/nationalistic homophobic. I did not know that there aren't that many men to go around. Here we have dating sights, there they have marriage sites!! They gave advice on how to "get a real man".. Like.. take your photo while you are ovulating b/c you are more attractive to men at that time!! Holy Shit!! Don't use condoms b/c men don't like them... even if AIDS is increasing in mother russia... uff.....
I can see why rump would love putin cause the whole sense of men macho and misogyny just fit his master plan...

Your right, I just looked it up. It's german for "understander". It seemed very familuar cause my Mom who spoke a few languages would look at me sometimes and say "versteh"?. Also I would hear it in Yiddish when in Brooklyn... Funny. Pro Russians using a german work to talk about putin..
In Russian it should be Putin понимает [pah-nee-MAYET]
