Ohio Voters Disapprove of Trump By Large Margin

March 31, 2019 at 8:51 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

A new Baldwin Wallace University poll finds just 39% of Ohio adults approve of President Trump’s job performance, with almost three times more saying that they “strongly disapprove” of Trump’s handling of the presidency than those who said they “strongly approve.”

... as a longtime western Pennsylvania resident I'm going to say that Ohio is our cultural/political sibling in so many ways. Ohio and Pennsylvania have shared history, geography, economic ups & downs, and even football rivalries for my entire lifetime. I can see the growing disgust with Chump even among those who voted for him in 2016. I believe a lot of people are quietly leaving the Republican party, at least until Chump is gone. Let's hope people are finally paying attention to how they've been duped.

I remember the summer of 2016 my husband and I had to make a trip to Titusville,PA. The whole way driving up there I saw nothing but Trump signs in people's yards and some homemade signs bashing Hillary, and I said to my husband, we are fucked, how can these folks support that ignoramus? Yet PA elected a Dem governor, Pittsburgh is solidly Democratic, too. I wish Ohio would have elected Cordray instead of that religion nut de Wine.... you are right, our areas are intertwined in many ways, and let's hope that the morons we see at these Chump rallies dwindle in numbers from now on.

Most Pennsylvanians are backing off from Chump-fever now, as you are in Ohio too. People are finally figuring out it was all a scam and Chump is a terrible president. One of the worst in my opinion.

Thanks for being a regular poster on DU, my friend!

I am on the other side of Ohio by Indiana and Trump won by seventy five percent in every county around here. So I don't have a lot of faith that Ohio will go blue.

Perhaps the tide is turning ..... I just can't believe anyone here would think Chump is doing a good job, and there has to be a lot of resentment against him the way he talked about the union at the GM plant.

The GM shutdown after Dimwit Donnie promised them he would singlehandedly make GM keep the jobs there?

My roots run deep in Ohio, but I am so glad I left decades ago because it's been nothing but downhill since Reagan.

told everyone not to sell their homes, because he was bringing manufacturing back.

He told the coal miners he "digs coal" and "has their backs".

I don't know what he told the farmers, but their plight has certainly gotten way worse, too.

If Ohio doesn't go blue in the 2020 election, then there is no hope!

They need to get out and VOTE!

I sometimes fear that the same thing will happen as in 2016 .... too many apathetic morons who won't bother to vote because they don't like either candidate.

I'm guessing the 39% are the gun humpers.
