Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney claims Americans won’t lose health care coverage if 'Obamacare' is struck down

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/mulvaney-guarantees-americans-covered-obama-health-care-law/story?id=62062573

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney claimed Sunday that if the Trump administration succeeds in striking down the entirety of the Affordable Care Act in court, millions of Americans who have health coverage because of the Obama-era health law will not lose their insurance. But with no clear GOP replacement plan, Mulvaney provided few details on how he could make such guarantee.

On "This Week," ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl asked Mulvaney whether he could provide such a guarantee for the millions of people who enrolled through HealthCare.gov, including those with pre-existing conditions and the people under the age of 26 enrolled under their parents' plans.

"Yes and here's why," Mulvaney said Sunday. "Let's talk about pre-existing conditions, because it gets a lot of the attention and rightly so. Every single plan that this White House has ever put forward since Donald Trump was elected, covered pre-existing conditions."

But beyond pre-existing conditions protections, Mulvaney did not address how the 8.4 million Americans who have coverage through HealthCare.gov and state exchanges would all maintain their coverage under a potential GOP replacement plan.

He is the one that want to completely destroy Obamacare without any healthcare proposal. As I see it, GOPers want us to suffer. I can envision their healthcare plan wherein millions won't be able to afford it.

are a return to the olden days of such coverage costing much higher premiums than other policies, much more than most people can afford.

I despise Mulvaney.

If Obamacare goes away, there is no legislation that I've even seen drafted to replace it.
People will lose their coverage until new coverage is passed - which will never happen with substance while the GOP control either chamber in Congress or the White House.

they still have no plan. They just hate Obama and the ACA and want to destroy it, no matter how many people they have to hurt to do so.

Most everybody's plan will run through the end of the year. The premiums have been paid.

So, the timeline would look like:

1. Assume ACA is struck down.
2. Trump and repubs spend a week to a month screaming, "See! You're all still covered! Those evil liberals lied!"
3. End of year, and 20 million people can't renew their policies and the Repubs go into Blame the Dems mode.
4. Trumplodytes will blame Dems because Obamacare was obviously "not good enough" and we need FREE MARKET SOLUTIONS!
