Sure, when the sand goes up and forms the fetus, God knows its name.
But, the death of a fetus is no different than when God kills innocent pregnant women, causes miscarriages, etc.
Perhaps the purpose of that fetus was to die in the first place, and never be born into a life.

This needs to be on T-shirts, and bumper stickers, and giant billboards.

(11,085 posts)and not just imaginative fiction. Okay, now I feel like when I realized all the zombie movies and "The Walking Dead" TV show are really about our current world, not fictional apocalyptic worlds. If you don't blend in with the zombies around you, they try to eat you.
So the women in our world must dress and act according to their assigned roles--wife and mothers one way, single women seeking husbands another, office workers a third way, and women who work menial jobs a fourth way. That kind of tracks, at least for Republican women.
(The whole time I watched "The Handmaid's Tale," I worried that Donald Trump might see it on TV (no way he's reading the book), and decide we need to rewrite the Constitution using that sick civilization as a guide. I had the same worry watching "The Purge."

(5,400 posts)Margaret Atwood has said that there is nothing in the novel that has not been true somewhere on earth at some time in history:
"I made a rule for myself: I would not include anything that human beings had not already done in some other place or time, or for which the technology did not already exist. I did not wish to be accused of dark, twisted inventions, or of misrepresenting the human potential for deplorable behavior. The group-activated hangings, the tearing apart of human beings, the clothing specific to castes and classes, the forced childbearing and the appropriation of the results, the children stolen by regimes and placed for upbringing with high-ranking officials, the forbidding of literacy, the denial of property rightsall had precedents, and many of these were to be found, not in other cultures and religions, but within Western society, and within the Christian tradition itself. (I enclose Christian in quotation marks, since I believe that much of the Churchs behavior and doctrine during its two-millennia-long existence as a social and political organization would have been abhorrent to the person after whom it is named.)"

(2,596 posts)They want women serving as wives, mothers and dependent in their entirety on the beneficence of a male. We're to push out one (preferably) male kid after another, all the while tending to the home fires and sweeping those porches, until we dry up and die sooner than later so the 45 year old widower can go pluck a fifteen year old virgin and start the process all over again.

(16,844 posts)They believe that the unborn are better than the already born because the unborn are 'innocent.' I'm unsure if original sin covers the unborn. I don't think St. Augustine ever imagined a day in which people fetishized fetuses to the degree that some are doing now. He probably didn't think the unborn had souls. It's interesting to look at the twists and turns that Christianity has taken over the centuries.

(6,172 posts)of being concerned more with the unborn child than with the children once they have been born.
Their policy on the unborn is strictly to control and dominate women.
Their policy once the child is born is consistent with their philosophy of not really giving a shit about those kids.
Just look what they did to immigrant children.
Ah! Such good Christians!
To paraphrase Jesus, "What so ever you do to the least of my children, that you do also unto me".
