No sense hanging onto a windblown stop sign if you aren't properly dressed.

(6,114 posts)I just posted about this. Been digging into the latest recon and model runs. Isaac is going between Haiti and Cuba and will be stronger than earlier forecasts.
High prob that convention area of Tampa will flood - 6-10 storm surge as winds force water up Tampa Bay.

(6,114 posts)While I haven't seen where all The Weather Channel reporters are being dispatched yet (except Seidel in Cuba), because of the convention I would expect Cantore to head to Tampa for the extra dramatic effect.

Looks like the main thrust of the storm continue to veer further west...so the "fun" place to be look like near Mobile. Also with the water in the Gulf at 85 and above the longer this storm stays in open Gulf water the more severe the storm will be.
Looks like the rushpublicans will be left to their own devices to self destruct this week.

Imagine your political reporting standing in the winds trying to cover both the convention and a hurricane?

(2,825 posts)Cantore said the storm would be a "Buzzkiller" for the convention.
Talked about the storm surge and how the waves would be hitting up against the convention center, itself.
All the boats will be leaving the harbor because they would be damaged, otherwise.
