I've been in many a tropical storm--they're fricking nasty.

oh--and a few hurricanes as well.

The weather in Tampa will be absolutely horrendous during the RNC convention---I mean nasty as hell.

Tampa will survive fine--- but this will devastate the convention and I take great solace in that.

Though I doubt he'd ever see anything other than the inside of his limo and the VIP parking garage.

Kind of like the clown car during the primaries, but in their faces this time.

There are several tent complexes set up outside for various entertainment functions. Those will definately be affected by gusty winds. Rain is a ?, could be heavy, could be little... depends if a heavy storm band crosses Tampa or not. If lots of rain, then minor street flooding likely. And convention center (where media and communications HQd) next to the Ice Palace has a notoriously leaky roof. Storm surge not a problem. There might be wave action flooding Bayshore Blvd south of downtown, and low-lying areas like Shore Acres in St Pete. Beaches are in danger of surf erosion, TS Debby already has washed much away.

I have no sympathy for the RNC delegates and their hangers-on.
