Romney officials move Jeb Bush speech to Monday (non-televised) night

http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/national/rnc-rolls-out-more-details-on-convention-schedule/1247550

Romney officials late Friday announced that they were moving Ann Romney's scheduled Monday night speech to Tuesday to make sure she appeared on network television.

To fill Mrs. Romney's spot, officials moved former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush from Wednesday night to Monday. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will still speak Thursday, introducing the nominee.

And maybe Jeb would be too much of a reminder to whatever more moderate Republicans and Republican-leaning independents are out there that Jeb would have been a better candidate.

Especially after this AP headline and article the last couple of days:

Rubio, Jeb Bush can build national appeal in Tampa
August 24, 2012 20:36 GMT

-snip-

If President Barack Obama defeats Mitt Romney in November, supporters will be pushing Bush and Rubio to run in four years. They are popular with conservatives and could easily raise the requisite millions to wage serious campaigns.

Their speeches in Tampa could give those bids a push. Obama used a speaking slot at the 2004 Democratic convention to move from little-known Illinois legislator to U.S. senator to president in four years.

But they won't be running against each other. Bush is Rubio's mentor. Rubio's supporters say he would defer if Bush decided to run. Neither is willing to discuss his specific plans.

If Obama wins, then rethugs are going to have to take care of the teabagger problem that they created, nurtured, and funded before they can even THINK about considering putting another Bush, let alone a Hispanic on their ticket. The teabaggers, fundies, anti-choicers, and racists were coddled for too long to give up just like that. They are going to have a hard time putting that evil genie back in the bottle because they'll double-down and blame those they think are RINOs.
