Why are the Democrats in the House holding back on the subpeonas?
Just how polite do you have to be to corrupt agency heads who flaunt your authority and oversight?
Afraid to go the court? Better go to court now before the benches are filled with the likes of Scalia and the Beermeister.

1. What I have read is that it is about not giving courts a reason to side against
What I have read is that it is about not giving courts a reason to side against them. Meaning they have to give ample time for DON to process or the court will rule that they didn’t give enough time.
I also heard on Thom Hartman today that this is all going to go to the USAC anyway and that they will just push it out past 2020 before they even look at it. |

2. In Barr's own words today
He said he'd never release the report in full.
Time? Why wait with that evidence? |

6. And worse Barr refused to answer if he gave report to White House
HE REFUSED TO ANSWER.
Democrats have tools to stop that. If they want to |

9. Right.
We will never see that report with the makeup of the branches as they sit right now.
We can demand that they turn it over again and again and hope that showing the American public that they will not comply is enough to convince them that the administration and the republicans are a bunch of crooks. |

3. Chances are that it's because they know what they're doing and we don't
What would they subpoena? "Give us everything!" isn't likely to sell to a judge.
Wait just a few days and they'll know what parts of the report are redacted and for what reasons. Instead of a vague belief that the administration is hiding things, they'll have a pretty good idea how much they'll have to work with. The fight over what can be released is likely to go on for months if not years. A few more days won't make a difference. It's likely that committee Democrats have just been making the blustery noise that they think we require - while they wait on something they can actually start on. |

7. How about changing the ineffective hearing structure??
The FIRST thing Dems can do is get rid of the 5 min question time, which allows Repubs like Barr to run out the clock. Go to unlimited time and get one person to ask most of the questions so they can ask followups.
This is not that hard and Dems are screwing the pooch. This is a national crisis and the GOP is running circles around the Dems because Dems haven’t figured out yet the rules have changed. |

12. Not a bad idea... but it won't happen
It’s structured that way because they want it like that. They all want their face time.

8. Also keep in mind "Just wait, Dems have got this" is a GOP talking point.
Rightwing media has been trying to tamp down Dem outrage for two years now.
Apparently that strategy has worked on some folks. |

14. Yes indeed, I can point to a couple rightwing propaganda sources
Former Murdoch employee:
Link to tweet Republican from WSJ https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/28/opinion/trump-mueller-russia-report.html Republican from Weekly Standard https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/21/opinion/trump-investigation-robert-khuzami.html Republican: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/04/give-william-barr-benefit-doubt/586207/ They're all telling us to wait. It's going to be OK. NO. It is not. We should be outraged. |

16. Mensch? Seriously?
Hardly a source of GOP talking points
The other three are not really sourced of GOP talking points either... but that doesn't much matter since they aren't saying "Dems have got this" anyway. All of which is also irrelevant since I'm not saying they've "got this" either and do not believe that "it's going to be ok". I'm saying that they have quite a bit more information that you do and know what they're doing better than an internet chat room does. |

4. If you listen to what's happening to the Republican supporters, you'll understand.
They are losing their minds. Those that don't support Trump, but fear socialism are seriously having a meltdown. They have no where to go and believe that we are in a state of anarchy. We need to pull them over to our side with information.

20. right
if they go before a judge, they'll be ask if they followed procedure before issuing the subpoena and it's doubtful that even an Obama/Clinton appointed judge would look kindly at the House Democrats not following proper procedure.
