16. Why "Ex-Obama" lawyer?

Because they are advanced. The previously rejected headline was "Lawyer to Negro President Obama a Thug".

If that's too rude I can delete. But the point is sickeningly true, still, in 2019 journalism. Hiding behind politically-charged adjectives tells a lot about a journalist's research and objectivity. Or lack thereof.

This headline failed on all measures, except the dog-whistle test. In fact, Trump and supporters all perked up their ears when hearing the story say "Obama".

but, if Clinton had won in 2008 and the same person was WH Counsel for her first year, it would be the same thing - because they want to tag the Democrat with the it.

S Dist of NY didn't find a reason to charge him. DC folks took over and mysteriously prosecuted him. He is a Democrat and had at one time worked for Obama.

If you want a really good history of how bad Manafort actually is, you should listen to Behind the Bastards: No Matter How Much You Hate Paul Manafort, You Should Hate Him More (and here's why)

Laundering US taxpayer money through foreign dictators in order to extend civil conflicts in order to inflate arms sales. Basically inventing (with buddy Roger Stone) the modern lobbyist system in the USA (and we can all see how well that's served us).

The man is a nightmare, and the more people know about the terrible terrible things he's done, the better:

Second man who died in Democratic donor Ed Buck's home overdosed on meth

https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/26/us/ed-buck-second-man-death-overdose/index.html

Like the only thing Ed Buck has ever done and his entire existence revolves around donating to Democrats (he isn't even that large of a donor as far as rich donors go). But that's the only thing they identify him as.

Oh, but the right makes it only about President Obama!! President Obama was a great man and a great President!! President Obama tried to do so many great things for all of us and the right fought him all the way, especially McConnell. If Hillary would have gotten the presidency the right would have slaughtered her. In spite of the opposition President Obama still did a really great job. He was my president and not the 'orange blob'! I hope the 'orange blob' and McConnell get what they've got coming.

where trump lives. trump wants to be able to look him in the eye. He doesn’t like having to look up to a towering historical figure - OR comparing so unfavorably to a beloved, still popular, AND scandal-free former President.

It’s hard to see to the top of Mt. Everest when all you’ve got is an anthill.

In all the articles I’ve read, I never felt like they didn’t do an adequate job explaining Manafort’s connection to Trump.
