(CNN)[Breaking news update at 12:59 p.m. ET]

Sol Pais, the armed 18-year-old from Florida who made threats and was "infatuated" with Columbine, has been found dead, a law enforcement official told CNN.

"There is no longer a threat to the community," the FBI's Denver office tweeted Wednesday, using the hashtag "#FindSol."

"Additional details are not immediately available," the FBI said.

front range set up on my iphone (mainly for traffic and weather)... Most of them alerted that schools in their Districts had been closed over this today (Wednesday).

Damn...I only hope there are not scores of "copy cats" waiting to take her place. At least her threat was recognized and resulted in alerts to try to prevent her from gaining access to guns--at least in CO. (she did get a pump action hunting rifle, though).

While we may try to limit coverage of these perpetrators for obvious reasons, we DO need to know who the hell she was and how on earth an 18 yo girl from Miami could have become so obsessed and violent.

Local news has broken in on morning shows, apparently to go live...

Sigh... Columbine Anniversary is April 20 (20 year anniversary). It still devastates me.

So it was a self inflected GSW? My question is how did a person from Florida who went to Colorado get a gun??? Did she fly? If so how did it get past inspectors. Did she get it in Colorado?
If she drove she could have brought the gun with her. It's easy to get a gun in Florida.
If she got the gun in Colorado, she could have got it thru a private sale...
Hummmm....... Yes, another reason for better gun laws.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado — Sol Pias, the Florida woman accused of making credible threats against the Denver metropolitan area, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, law enforcement sources close to the investigation said.

The FBI Denver office confirmed the agency had responded to the base of Mt. Evans Wednesday morning and in a Tweet just before 11 a.m. said there was no longer a threat to the community.

Pias, 18, was accused of making credible threats against the Denver metropolitan area that prompted lockouts at multiple Colorado schools on Tuesday and school closures on Wednesday.

you need to go before a judge and be adjudicated mentally ill and sent for involuntary commitment.

I'm glad they skipped right to the end and no kids were harmed. Hope it starts a trend.

I'm so glad they canceled school. Who knows what she might've done if school had been full of targets.
