NO ONE I know of is even suggesting that you or the Liberty "University" graduates to whom you recently spoke cannot BELIEVE anything you choose to believe. It is your right to do that. But, we, the majority, also have rights and one of them is to say that what you believe is mostly bullshit--- cowardly, ignorant, self-serving bullshit.
You see, we don't believe you for a second when you say that your discrimination against LGBTQ folks or non-Christians or people of color or women or mixed race couples or their children is required by your "faith". You are willfully ignorant, mean-spirited assholes who live in fear of anyone not exactly like you. THAT is the motivation for your very "unChristian" actions toward others.
You and transparent hypocrites like you are a big part of the reason that organized religion is dying. This is no longer a nation in which religious leaders are among the handful of people in a community who can read. We read. We think. We reason. And, we are way past the stage where a sanctimonious few are going to force us to live by their silly rules.
One last thing: "the public" includes EVERYONE. If you choose to participate in a profession or engage in a business that is in any way licensed or governed by laws for the benefit of "the public", you are NOT free to withhold or limit your services based on the vagaries of your "religion". Serve everyone or no one.
You are free to think that gay marriage is a sin, just as long as you issue the couple their license, rent them a reception hall or bake their wedding cake.
