WTF is this weird Colbert interview with Gayle and the new CBS am news anchors?

They keep announcing their resumes and how they're new but not new, and how 'It's the same old show..."

Methinks they explain too much. So, what's the controversy they're so sensitive about??? Something about the new president???

Really, really strange interview. They're all trying too hard, and smiling too much.

1. Now they're explaining why his real name Anthony is replaced by Tony, blah blah blah

Admitted his father was in the drug business...WTF?? Pot seller.

This is the weirdest crap I've ever heard. Do they expect abc and nbc to go on the attack, so they're airing their dirty laundry on Colbert??

Am I stoned? I don't remember doing any drugs...

3. From descriptions, sounds like they're doing it under duress by CBS.

6. It seemed that way to me. Really forced and awkward, and Colbert was in on the ploy.

They're finageling something that they don't want to say, outright.

4. (Needlessly controversial here: ) For years I never looked at CBS/a.m. Then did.

A year or so ago I was tired of the GMA happy talk (compounded by the advent of STRAHAN) and tried Today despite years of shunning LAUER.

So I tried teh CBS before Charlie ROSE got exposed or exposed himself or whatever. What I saw was Gayle being *VERY* enabling and "flirtaceous" with ROSE, doing endless double entendres about what a sexy, sexacious dude he was under his Old Man exterior. While Nora seemed the teeniest bit uncomfortable although she never objected.

Gayle KING was at the minimum an enabler, even an instigator, yet has managed to slick on by.


*******ON EDIT: In *NO* way am I suggesting that ROSE was not responsible for his deeds or that SHE was responsible for his deeds, just that she was playing games, possible knew something about his game.

5. That's an interesting addition to the weird interview I saw. Lots of back room crap going on.

The true stories are likely far more salacious. Interesting to watch and see if anything comes of this.

It was like watching 3 7th graders who were getting away with pretending to be grown up news casters...Maybe I'll record it to see what the live on air vibe is.

Who knows what recipe the corporate overlords are going for. Maybe their focus groups chose these 3 but there's a fatal flaw they're all desperate to cover up.

I would think there was so much capable talent that it wouldn't be this difficult to cast the show???
