General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat the news people should ask these lawmakers who are passing antiabortion laws
1. How will the state compensate the women for lost work, pain and suffering, and risk of life by being forced to produce a child against their will?
2. How will the fathers of these embryos (that these women will be forced to produce into babies) be taxed or fined for the expenses of said pain, suffering, and risk to life that the state will be obligated to supply? Or do they prefer that males without vasectomies post bonds that women can draw funds from for such pain, suffering, risk of life? And raising this baby that they are forced to produce.
3. What other instances of forced production will the state be embarking upon?
4. Why do they devalue motherhood to the point that they think it is a trivial matter to obligate someone unprepared to take that responsibility on?

(6,278 posts)something might shift. I think that the "right" always pretending to be holding some sort of moral high ground, is never taken to task appropriately.

(33,345 posts)they literally go to training for it.
You might also notice that direct debate never occurs in American politics. Even in election "debates". They have no interest in contemplating the opposition's positions.
Dems are not innocent of this, either.

(994 posts)They are trying to end legal and SAFE abortion. Abortion has been with the human race forever. And always will be as long as two people, one of whom is a female of child bearing age, are having sex. These laws - if inacted - will simply push the procedure to the back alleys again. Anyone remember those days when women died due to bleeding and infection from an abortion done under the cloak of secrecy in some rather horrible conditions.

(6,278 posts)about how they will pay for all these forced pregnancies. I want the questions asked that cause them to articulate what they will pay for. And then they can take the consequences of realizing that they have no way to pay for any of thee forced pregnancies.

They are interested in returning to times when there was no pre-marital sex, it was even illegal (fornication). Having succeeded with criminalizing abortion, they won't go home satisfied with a job well done. They will be then start on making birth control illegal.
When will you be requiring insurance companies to offer life insurance policies for zygotes?
When will you pass a law requiring everyone to donate a kidney or part of their liver when a match is made for organ donation?
When are you planning to imprison convicted rapists who cause pregnancy 99 years?

(6,278 posts)and how about- why do rapists get to have any parental rights in your state?
