Both Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter released from hospital

Former President Jimmy Carter has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home from surgery for a broken hip.

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter also had a health scare yesterday. According to a tweet from the Carter Center, she "felt faint and was admitted overnight to the hospital for observation and testing. She left the hospital with President Carter this morning."

Both Carters were treated at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Ga.

Carter, 94, was headed out for turkey hunting when he fell earlier this week at his home in Plains, Ga., the Center announced Tuesday.

Hugs to both of them

I've seen this a lot, I saw it with my own parents. When patients up there in years - late 80's and on - have a health crisis, their spouse often does too. When my mom broke her hip at 93, my dad age 95, was admitted to the ER with chest pains. It turns out he was having his first (identified) panic attack.
I think this also explains the reason that couples who have been married 60+ years often die within hours of one another.
I hope the Carters both set new world records for their longevity.

They were married for eons. When she died (at home), he climbed into bed and told his children that they're both going to the funeral parlour (as it was called). He hugged his dead wife and died. We still talk about it as a beautiful moment.
