Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) slammed President Trump and Attorney General William Barr is a series of tweets, while saying he offers his conclusions only after having read Muellers redacted report carefully and completely.
Amash states his principal conclusions as follows:
Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Muellers report.President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.Few members of Congress have read the report.
He concludes: Americas institutions depend on officials to uphold both the rules and spirit of our constitutional system even when to do so is personally inconvenient or yields a politically unfavorable outcome. Our Constitution is brilliant and awesome; it deserves a government to match it.

What this really means is Amash is urging everyone to read the report carefully and completely.
Many congresspersons have not done so. So, he says read it all, and you will come to the same conclusion.

(7,142 posts)2nd of all, maybe Amash will light a fire under Democrats. Correct me if Im wrong but Amash is tougher on Trump, maybe we can get Republicans to lead the impeachment?

(261 posts)Ive been hoping that Democrats are biding their time until so much comes out that they are forced to impeach. But this may move them to get ahead of the curve if it seems like more Republicans might start speaking out. They cant let Republicans be seen as more decisive. Tricky balancing act.
I do think the Democrats are trying to play it smart and Im trying not to be a back seat driver. But Im feeling a wave of relief at this turn of events and am hopeful that maybe the story arc might shift.
Still Ive felt this way many times along the way with this weird story, only to end up gobsmacked by craven Republicans.
