Shut down a religious nut today over abortion...

....long story short, the typical talking points.

So I decided to use a different tact.

Said, "Ok, lets just say your right and the government via "Biblical Law" has the right to decide this and not the woman. That means the government could mark you on your forehead or hand with a micro-chip exactly like its mentioned in the Book of Revelation of the Bible. Guess I can count on you with joining with the Anti-Christ".

Left it there as I could see his blood pressure skyrocketing and walked away.

1. Why not just ask him why he thinks god needs his help?

Or have him to explain why god doesn’t smite the “sinners” himself.

I ask these questions whenever they espouse punishment or spew religious hatred against any group. That includes LGBT groups, racial groups, other religion groups and women.

They have no answer, because there is no answer to those questions. But when they shut up in shock be sure to tell them god is watching and waiting for their answer.

I’m not a believer but they are and they deserve to have their “faith” crammed down THEIR throats for a change.

...they'll dismiss everything you just argued and ignore it. For example, your statement;

Or have him to explain why god doesn’t smite the “sinners” himself.

Because God want's to give everyone a chance to repent

And they will use that line consistently while at the same time hypocritically try to enact a Theocracy. However, when you point out their own beliefs are in opposition to what they is the "final authority"....You'll get the "blow back effect". They will have to dig deep to be dismissive or maybe actually think for a change.

But if one had told me god was giving them a chance to repent it’s easy to ask them if god gave them a chance why didn’t they. Or ask them if god had appointed them to smite.

Their answer would be to get as far away from you as they could, as fast as they could.

Sinners throwing stones.

All supposed to be the rules.

Don’t eat the fruit for gawd’s sake.

Not enough smiting if you ask me.

I know how they think.

Whatever argument you made, stated, etc. fell on deaf ears. In their view, "non-believer.../ignore".

But when you profess acceptance of the Bible, belief in God, etc. then turn the tables on them....its a whole different world. The propaganda in print, video, etc. is enormous. They are brainwashed to believe a certain way and accept certain creeds. Even when they contradict...while telling that living with a contradicting mind is impossible, which it isn't. But sounds good.

Break the glass of their reality and either they will double down and declare you as a heretic doomed to hell, or, walk away and actually think for a change. There is a reason why fundamentalist churches run the attrition rates they are.

Flip side, fundie nut job churches, get worse.

Imperfect humans and has blamed humans for it ever since.

I have told faux religious that I think a powerful god can take care of it himself.

...I didn't want to divorce, it was the spouses fault and we were unequally yoked. Dig hard enough in the Bible, you can justify anything.

I've found when it comes to specific subject matter, don't bring up other issues. But use their reasoning and logic and show them how it contradicts directly to one of their other deep held beliefs. As in this case, government control of one's body is enabling one of the most hated enemies in the Bible, the Anti-Christ, hence they are working for Satan, not God.

that reference babies in the womb like, thinking that they justify forced birth laws.

Don't let them get away with that crap.

Exodus 21:22-25, Numbers 5:11-31. Throw those verses in their faces and have the forced-birth activists explain them away.

I've heard/read the passages, but I didn't know where they were. This is bookmark worthy.
