Rotten human beings

To be a Republican in today’s world, you’ve got to be a really shitty human being.

They’re not just people with a different legislative agenda. They’re not just people who have differences with us on the role of government. They don’t care about a functioning government, or about democracy, or decency, or the well being of others, or about anything other than their own power and wealth.

And the tools they use to con the various factions of rubes into voting for them are a perverted form of religion, love of guns, hatred of abortion, white supremacy and permanent war.

The majority of people have seen through them long ago. But majorities no longer matter due to gerrymandering, multiple voter suppression tactics, and a huge propaganda machine.

Think what a miserable person you’d have to be to live by the words: “I’ve got mine. Fuck everybody else.” This is not to say that all Dems are “saints.” But today’s Republicans are truly malignant people, predators, and our deadly enemies. We forget that at our peril.

15. Yeah. That pretty much overshadows everything else

Women can fight back, and we will. They won’t know what hit them in 2020. Everyone Trump has targeted can fight back, but the children in those cages and their parents can’t. We have to fight for them.

But absolute enslavement of females. (maybe hatred of females/women but it's really just total indifference)

4. I've had this argument with my wife many times.

She is a complete Democrat from birth.

I say, how can you believe these things and be a good person.

She says I work with them and they would protect me. They are good but misguided.

then, no, they clearly would not protect her.

5. This is a sad fact. Not just "hatin' on the opponent" politics. This Repub Party is different.
Tue May 21, 2019, 08:13 AM
May 2019

This Republican Party has been taken over by a group of extremists who have sanctioned crimes and unethical behavior.

No, this is not the Grand Old Party, anymore. This is something else. You can't "unify" and "work across the aisle" with people who are at war with you. You reach consensus with them only by doing it their way.

There are a few establishment Republicans mixed in with them, most of whom are scared to speak out, or their careers and personal lives might be destroyed. It's not a political party whose ideals and love of our democracy is intact, but ideology differs on how to govern. It's something else.

9. The ones (RepubliCONS) I talk to don't buy into everything
Tue May 21, 2019, 08:47 AM
May 2019

They buy one ideology and tolerate the rest.

They will say no they don't want their grandmothers' Social Security taken away, they don't believe the RepubliCONS will do that. But they are racist and like that about the RepubliCON party, or they are anti-choice and like that, or they are super religious and want religion in our government, or they like tariffs. They see how awful RepubliCONS are about other issues and they don't like it. But they vote for the CONS anyway because of their pet issue.

You are right though, even if the RepubliCONS represented my pet issue, and a few do, I would never vote for them just because of how awful those other issues are. You have to tolerate a whole lot of disgusting hatefulness to vote RepubliCON.

11. their actual numbers and power is greatly magnified by the left's continued ignorance of talk radio

absent a visible challenge that huge buzz dominating 40 states with 80 senators convinces enough apathetic and too-busy secondary and tertiary recipients of that propaganda, which might as well be coming out of the kremlin, to go along with the cons. the premise for all their ignorance and treason is the alternate reality that only that unchallenged talk radio monopoly can create. it might as well have come out of limbaugh's ass and i doubt any of today's protests will go to the where they would scare the crap out of republican politicians - the radio stations and the 88 universities that support 260 limbaugh stations.

13. podcasts are part of the free speech spectrum, with choices a click away. just like TV/fox

at some level or maybe instinctively republicans fight broadband infrastructure to maintain that massive propaganda advantage. and have been using it to fight net neutrality like they did media and election regulation.

there are huge parts of the country with no free easy alternatives for politics, especially when driving, working, and doing chores - and there won't be soon.

that difference is even more pronounced in naitonal emergencies - natural and manmade. those are the radio stations people in tornado alley are listening to this week.

the cons are setting up a x10 ebola scare for 2020 - like they used in 2014. talk radio 's talking about africans in those caravans. who's paying inciting attacks on ebola clinics in the congo?

until democrats stop ignoring talk radio w're not going to be able to have any fact-based discussion about any major issue without them being able to create made-to-order disinformed constituencies to derail them
