Could Trump have submitted false tax records to banks?

We have seen that Trump misstated the values of his properties in order to inflate his balance sheets submitted to financial institutions. How likely is it that he had different "versions" of his tax filings, not just the one he submitted to the IRS? Submitting altered tax returns with loan applications is a fairly commonplace financial fraud with commercial and investment real estate financing and mortgages. Seems likely to me to suspect Trump might have played those kinds of games. Just another thing he did for sport.

I would bet that Trump has never submitted a factual tax return in his entire criminal life. n/t fleur-de-lisa May 2019 #2

His "excuse" for being a LOOOOOOOOOOzer is that he defrauded both the IRS and the banks, for "sport."

One of the reasons he doesn't want Congress to get his financial records. He's
probably terrified that one entity would have all of the records in front of them at the same time since there are no two alike.

and they knew the numbers were cooked, but lent him money anyway, because the loans were covered by collateral. Deutsche Bank may be criminally bent, but it isn't stupid.

I think Cohen was referring to balance sheets, valuations, existing loans, etc. and not to actual tax returns. I'm raising the possibility of altering the copies of tax returns submitted to financial institutions and others. I don't remember that specific aspect being addressed, though I could have easily missed it.

but NYS would certainly be interested in Cohen's statement that Trump fudged numbers when valuating property for tax purposes.

Most likely Cohen didn't have everything in his possession. But you know who does? The CFO for the Chump Organization for almost 50 years is Allen Weisselberg. Mr. Weisselberg knows all, including where the bodies are buried (figuratively). The Jerry Nadler's House Committee needs to subpoena Mr. Weisselberg as soon as possible.

about Allen Weisselberg (longtime Trump Organization CFO) being called in for Congressional testimony. Did this ever happen? He's the money man and knows where the bodies are buried.

Any loan beyond about $100k requires signing a form 4506 which allows the bank the view your tax return.

This form does not allow the bank to share the return with any outside party.

So yes Trump could have falsified tax returns. Banks could have easily detected it. Such falsification would be a Federal crime.

Now having said that. It's entirely possible that banks didn't do it. (A similar thing happened with Bernie Madoff)
