"It's a disaster," said senior Repub. on Trump-Pelosi confrontations. "It plays right into her hands

Why Pelosi is so good at infuriating Trump

The speaker stands firm against the president like few others.

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/22/pelosi-trump-meeting-1340123

“She’s smarter than him, and she’s tougher than him, and I think that bothers him,” said Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), a Pelosi ally. “It's hard to get inside that head of his and figure out what drives him, other than an oversized ego and an undersized sense of ethics.”

Trump doesn’t have a condescending nickname for the speaker as he does for other Democrats. He even appears to have a grudging respect for Pelosi, the first woman to serve as House speaker. He treats her as a peer who commands her chamber with a firm hand, and he knows she can deliver on votes, and that she is willing to call any bluff at any time.

The latest episode of “Trump vs. Pelosi” featured Trump storming out of a planned White House meeting with Pelosi, Schumer and other top Democrats over a proposed $2 trillion infrastructure package.

It was just the type of explosion that allows Democrats to portray the president as unreliable, tempestuous and impossible to negotiate with. And Trump's refusal to cut any deals with Democrats while they engage in oversight — something every president has to live with — backs up what Democrats have said since the 2016 campaign: Trump is only out for Trump, not the American public.

I thought I would have trouble with a Dem leader who felt they had to spank a Republican president in public, but damn, it's the only thing that's working!

“Guess what? He behaves like a child. This is what we have in the White House now,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who served under Pelosi in the House. “I’m used to it. I’m not expecting a grown-up any longer. I’m not expecting him to grow into the role.”

And for Pelosi, the timing is perfect. As the drumbeat for impeachment grows within her caucus, she can argue that what they’re doing is already working. Trump clearly doesn’t know how to respond to the barrage of Democratic investigations; they’re winning in the courts and he’s throwing fits. So why bother with impeachment, especially when Democrats know that a GOP-run Senate isn’t going to remove him from office?

That foreshadowed her strategy. Paraphrasing, "I'm a mother and a grandmother. I know how to deal with temper tantrums." That's exactly what she's done.

It seems to have the effect of making him paranoid, which causes him to make dreadful legal mistakes.

I've been calling for impeachment. But now, I feel that patience is in order. Why not just enjoy the shit show?

Pelosi can slay this dragon just by holding out her sword. The dragon will impale himself on it because he's drawn to it psychologically. It's his destiny.

The longer Pelosi waits, the more he will "poke the bear" to make it happen.

Each time he pokes, say by withholding documents or someone's testimony, the bear gets stronger. The bear then eats him at a time of Pelosi's choosing.

It is like she is blowing up a balloon a little at a time. At some point it will blow.

Meanwhile in the background the Democratic chorus keeps up a chant of "impeach him" that also unnerves Trump.

Just kind of a masterfully choreographed slowly making him crazy.

The reason I really like it is that as they slowly work on Trump's nerves he will be unwinding in public right before the election, making all the Trumpinistas who are running look like fools.

I think this all works much better than a direct confrontation where his buddies in the senate could bail his worthless ass out.

As long as he doesn't blow up the world as he loses sleep and snorts the coke.

> At some point it will blow.

Instead of exploding, I'd prefer this metaphor. Have you ever blown up a balloon and then just let go? It flies randomly around the room making flatulent noises as it rapidly deflates in a comical manner.

> snorts the coke.

I heard it was Adderall.

> they slowly work on Trump's nerves

He is becoming paranoid. When he makes a move now, say by refusing to provide documents or fulfill subpoenas, it backfires on him.

I think it is all working on a "multi-faceted" approach: and each facet is working on the "brain" of IQ45, driving him deeper and deeper into the delusions by which he lives.

He's going down.

The "respect the office" people are after him.

The "he's a pervert/slug/slimeball" people are after him.

The "he's disrespecting the Constitution" people are after him.

The "he robbed me!" people certainly want him.

The "he's destroying the economy" people can't afford him any more.

The "he'll bring coal back" people know they've been lied to.

The "trade wars are easy to win" people are losing now, and don't like it.

the "he's there for us" people realize that he doesn't even know who they even are (Hello, "I'm getting medical coverage, but it's not 'Obama-care' idiots" - yes it is!) are starting to learn "something....."

He's working/painting his way into a corner - he's gonna' lose it.

Oh, what a glorious sight it's gonna be!

ones who he abuses and loves doing it. He rarely runs into a women who confronts him and wins any arguments they have. He always fights back when some man disagrees with him, or criticizes him, and he uses every dirty trick he can find to "pay back", but most men just back away and let him win. When he encountered a woman who criticizes him, calls him out for his failures, and voices her opinion face to face with him, and IS RIGHT, he doesn't know what to do about her.

Keep it up Nancy. Its really fun to watch him squirm.
