U.S. News & World Report

WILLIAMSTOWN, KY. (AP) ... the owners of Kentucky's Noah's ark attraction are demanding their insurance company rescue them from flooding that caused nearly $1 million in property damages. The Ark Encounter says in a federal lawsuit that heavy rains in 2017 and 2018 caused a landslide on its access road. The Courier Journal reports the attraction's insurance carriers refused to cover damages ...

Since a flood is a natural disaster, then that would fall under an act of God, and most insurance won't cover that!

"The 510-foot-long wooden ark has been a popular northern Kentucky attraction since its 2016 opening. "

If by popular they mean a "boat shaped building" that has never met any of it's projections of attendance and has done fuck all for the local economy, then I guess it's popular.

Videoes of the construction releeased by the organization itself show the building to be made of concrete, supported by numerous pillars.

This lawsuit is over damages to their access road caused by heavy rain two years ago and last year (from my reading of the excerpt). Who's responsible for that access road? As I recall, The Ark Encounter was subsidized rather handsomely by the Kentucky Legislature with taxpayer funds. Did the public spigot get shut off? According to the excerpt, Ark Encounter is seeking punitive damages as well as compensatory damage. Would Jesus seek punitive damages, or would He settle for just being made whole? Punitive damages wouldn't seem to square with most readings of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew) or the Sermon on the Plain (Luke).

Should't God be responsible for this? I thought they were supposed to be able to endure a flood. Wasn't that the point?

I think they should pray about it. Maybe that will help.

If that ark starts to float away, they should be sure there are no republicans aboard to pollute the REDEEMED WORLD with their lying, cheating, greedy, anti-American ways.

I guess this one was just too far from Mt. Ararat for even celestial entities to intervene.

If it's any consolation, I don't recall reading that insurance covered any of the damage to the original, either.
