Democracy vs tyranny -- that war is on -- here and now

About a third of American voters side with the Republican Party and Trump. Nothing, absolutely nothing, will change their beliefs or delusions. And if they prevail, our democracy is over.

Make no mistake about it. Republicans are the enemies of everything that the rest of us, the majority, consider to be progressive and sane. They are against everything that we regard as a civil society. They are against plain human decency. And worst of all, they have become unable to see reality.

This cold war has been going on for decades. The Republican Party has conned many millions into putting them into power by forming a coalition of those who believe in God*, guns, wars, and the superiority of being white.

And now, they have finally found their "Great Leader." They stand with him under any and all circumstances. They've finally found a man who can totally rally the thoughtless. A man who can bend reality to his will. Yet, to their dismay, the Republicans now see that what they've found is a narcissistic, malicious, madman who they can't control or steer. Their hero has turned out to be a maniac, yet, they disown him at their peril. They are mired in silence.

The Dems don't yet have the power needed to end the madness, but 2020 may change the tide. And we must hope that the madman doesn't go full nuclear, literally, in the meantime.

How did we get here? Here's my opinion. The Democratic Party allowed a party of pure evil to advance their agenda step by step and did very little to oppose it. Too many Dems didn't recognize the horror that Republicans represent. Dems didn't use the power they had, when they had it. They didn't recognize that Republicans viewed us, not as their peers, but their enemy. They didn't realize that Republicans were after absolute power and didn't give a rat's ass about freedom, equality, "the American dream," or the very idea of democracy.

So here we are. All Democrats get it now. So what do we do?

My answer is that we do anything and everything necessary to save our democracy. Our enemies are ruthless and without values, mercy or conscience. We must recognize this and fight them accordingly.

And let me say this once again. The Republican Party has declared war on democracy. It's a cold war, but a war nonetheless. We didn't start it, but it's one we can't afford to lose. If we fail to suppress them, we will be doomed to live under a merciless, crazed tyranny.

*Their perverted concept of "God" is that of some vengeful, sick, sadistic sky wizard who should probably be in charge of Hell ... if you believe any of that dogma.

They're aiming for One Party Rule, and they'll do anything, INCLUDING accepting any and all help from one of our biggest adversaries.

This is WAY fucked up. WAY WAY fucked up...

We can't do "anything and everything necessary to save our democracy," because that would itself include violating the rule of law and democratic principles. They will do those things. We will tempted to respond in kind, but that would be counter productive.

When I hear long time dems saying nice things about their GOP counterparts I question if they know what the republican party has become. The party is so vile & un-American, it's changed my attitude about everyone I know who identifies as republican. Fuck 'em. There's not one decent thing about the party. Decent people don't support republicans.

the common thread is McConnell.

This is going to take some damn heavy engagement by the 60-70% of sane voters to vote these demons out and rid them from our politics!

And we now know, its a never-ending battle! We can NEVER rest - evil is a persistent bastard!!!
