I started watching Game Of Thrones to get my mind off the sickening news.

I had to stop midway through Season 2. It' too much like the daily news and the international politics of today. I'll just keep watching MSNBC and CNN when I want to be disgusted with the human race.

I can see that perspective. Funny that so many think it is merely "Dragon fantasy"... hlthe2b May 2019 #1
Everyone I know hated the last season. I'm glad I was put off by Season 1, Episode 2. nt pnwmom May 2019 #9

when it is actually a sociological, psychological and high stakes political exploration with aspects every bit as pertinent to society today.

It was so well done that I loved it. But it is really not "escapist" fare in the mode of Disney or other fantasy.

I generally cannot watch anything violent anymore, or that involves greed. I had been watching Billions for the first two seasons, then had to stop watching it. It was just making me nauseous. Scary movies, which I use to love watching? Fuggetaboutit. Panic attack city within 10 min. I'm too on the ledge. I console myself with the fact that Trumpies generally hate celebs now, and are in self-deprivation mode, watching Andy Griffith & old episodes of Gun Smoke in the dark while sipping on pabst blue ribbon.

it's definitely dark. The excesses of Wall Street generally make me sick. I really did want to continue watching it because it's loosely based on Preet Bahara. It will have to wait. I stopped watching Ray Donovan too as soon as Sarandon came aboard, and seeing Voigt's a trumpy. Loved that show. But it's on my boycott list. When the two of them go, maybe I'll watch again.
