The Trump coverup no one is talking about: The emperor has no money.
E. J. Dionne points out that Trump has no control over the purse strings, and that severely limits his power to negotiate anything with the Democratic House.
"From the moment Trump, Pelosi and Schumer announced their convergence on a $2 trillion infrastructure plan last month, Mulvaney began sabotaging it. “Is it difficult to pass any infrastructure bill in this environment, let alone a $2 trillion one, in this environment? Absolutely,” Mulvaney said. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-trump-coverup-no-one-is-talking-about/2019/05/26/24eb63c4-7e4f-11e9-a5b3-34f3edf1351e_story.html?utm_term=.5bd80dc80af4

8. "Moran" is a DU inside joke.
And it's wonderful to see the term "Knuckledraggers Caucus" in a Washington Post article.

20. not just DU
Knowing what "Moran" means is also knowing the old fuss about freepers and their porta potty wars on the Washington Mall and knowing why George W* always has an asterisk after his name. And who Bartcop was. And many other signs from the Internet political past.

6. Infuriating. Nonstarter, is it?
When we take power again in 2020, we'll be repealing the giant 2017 tax cut for billionaires and corporations and adjusting the tax code so those who can pay more.

9. "He had no way of coming up with anything constructive"
Because his role is not to come up with ideas, he has none, his role is to be what he does so well, be a decoy, make a lot of noise to turn the attention to him and miss what the crooks in the background are doing to the country.
I don't understand why we continue to give so much energy to the creature if we are missing the real problem which is the rest of the GOP. Someone needs to to start pointing out the actions of all these people. We don't hear too much about Pence, or Miller, maybe a little more from McConnell and Graham, but people don't hear about the real problem behind the scenes, they are the real problem, the buffoon is just there to distract, to turn our heads and our attention to the superfluous (tweets) while Miller cooks up Nazi-type policies like the ones that have separated families and caged children, and because we are distracted, we only find out about it when it happens. |

21. Passing a tax bill to pay for infrastructure requires approval in the Senate.
I agree with those who suggest the House should pass a bill and call Republicans to account for failing two pass it in the Senate. Democrats should pass every bill they want to because it will increase public pressure on Republican Senators. Right now their narrative is that Democrats are too busy with investigation to pass legislation.

12. We just need to pass our infrastructure bill in the House and campaign on it in 2020.
Let the people decide between us and our plan or the Republicans and no plan. McConnell can only block it as long as he stays in office as the majority leader.
