I just saw that on MSNBC.

(30,736 posts)I am looking for reasonable explanations, just like everyone else. These are dangerous, unprecedented times.
I think one thing we could do is ignore most of 45's antics. As Mayor Pete said, let's concentrate on the voters and citizens, what we want and need. Ignore most of 45's rambling, shambling nonsense. Let the media know we won't watch it on TV, listen on the radio or read it in the papers. Social media? That is so polarized it is not worth the time. No one is going to change minds there. Concentrate on We the People, not Trump the Lump.

(4,516 posts)Hour after hour of talking heads telling us how bad and unlawful trump is. Not one story about trump getting charged convicted thrown out of office. Because it isnt going to happen.
I am so bored with it I have turned to watching old movies.
We post here that soon very soon trump will get his just due. Impeach because it is the moral thing to do.
To hell with trump! Report what unlawful or terrible thing he has done today then report on the issues that the 2020 election will be about. Who will get our lose health care. Who will get to afford college. When will we start infrastructure rebuilding and create jobs and an infrastructure bank.
What good things can happen if Dems take over government. How to fight anti abortion states.

(18,486 posts)Otherwise, Trump's lawyers could drag it out for weeks or months.
It's the smart move. The Congressional attorneys know what they're doing.

(18,486 posts)They want to drag it out but they also really wanted a stay. And they need the stay right now much more. Since the committee's lawyers knew there was a good chance the judge would grant the stay anyway, this was a good way to use their need of a stay as leverage to get them agree to a faster decision.

(1,977 posts)Half the time we hail our Democratic politicians and then half the time we call them crazy, stupid and other names.
Maybe they know what they are doing and besides we put them in their positions.
I have to trust that they know what they are doing.

(18,486 posts)This question about the stay had been asked and answered a dozen or more times on DU since Friday. But people still assume the worst - and also assume they know more about legal strategy than the litigators handling the case.

(90,335 posts)... reasonable answer not derision of some kind.
It's not our job just to trust what our representatives do, we're not children.

(36,298 posts)One can only speculate which leads to the question as to who is actually doing the damn near gas lighting?

(90,335 posts)... we don't have time for this.
People ask a reasonable question give em a reasonable answer and "trust them" isn't it
Kaleva
(36,298 posts)There isn't one to this question now so all we can do is waste time by speculating instead of doing something that's actually useful. Altough one could say that this is entertaining so it's not a waste of time.
Just because you've received answers to other questions doesn't mean that there is an answer to the question the OP posed.
I'm done taking a break from house cleaning so I have to get back on it.

(1,977 posts)If you are I think you are mistaken.
I am not gaslighting anyone. I'm commenting on the amount of second guessing going on with our representatives. Some people here are making them out as though they are our adversaries.
I think it's a little ridiculous and over the top at times.
We should always question our representatives and we may not always agree with their actions but some of the stuff being said on the site right now make it out like their is no logic at all to their course of action which I find highly ridiculous.

(102,236 posts)the Dems didn't get "taken" on this... they are working on expediting the process, but they can't stop appeals. Showing good faith in this manner to the appeals court will likewise encourage an accelerated process.

(8,231 posts)would want to drag it out anyway they can.

(16,926 posts)Could be they are thinking the SC will step in to save them? IF that happens we ALL know how far this has infested in our AMERICAN system!! Look out then!! ( I really cannot fathom this will happen)

(8,231 posts)because that would piss off the judges. The full reply is a little on down thread.

I wish people would stop assuming facts not in evidence in just a headline and actually read the linked articles, where the answer can often be found.
