Speaker Pelosi Must Open Impeachment Hearings

Mueller's statement confirms and directly implicates the President, implying several charges of Obstruction of Justice, an impeachable offense.

It is not a matter of what is politically the best move.

It is a matter of what is moral and just.

place to get impeachment articles.

What about emoluments? In the fucking constitution and he makes money from being president every day. No one does a thing.

But, wait for it, you'll get a flood of "Never impeach him! It will be bad, he'll wish us all into the cornfield!".

I think that's one of the reasons Pelosi is reluctant to open an impeachment inquiry right now since doing so could curtail other committees' ability to conduct those investigations. The Mueller Report/Russia Conspiracy/Obstruction is just one of the areas that would be dealt with in impeachment hearings.

The other committees are gathering other evidence - evidence that would be difficult for the Judiciary Committee to gather in an impeachment inquiry. But it's being done and I think an impeachment inquiry will be opened soon.

This is moving along and gathering steam.

I support Elizabeth Warren who has been trumpeting your point for weeks that impeachment is a moral imperative regardless of the political fallout. I don't agree, however. Nancy's job is to do what it takes to limit Trump's term and influence. If the best way to do that is by not impeaching (which is admittedly debatable) then moral imperatives be damned. There's a moral imperative to the women and children and immigrants and the damned environment of the earth itself to beat Trump by whatever means necessary.

To allow blacks to attend the same schools as whites.

The southern Democrats left the party as a result and we live with the repercussions every day now.

She's providing time and space for her caucus to get to yes (and taking all the heat for their reluctance to move forward while also doing a great job of laying a foundation for impeachment when everyone's ready).

Everyone should call their own representatives and also work to educate their friends and neighbors.

I even called my senators. Yes, I know they’re not in the House. Wasn’t a waste of time. Only took a few minutes.
