I believe Mueller should be compelled to testify to Congress

So what if he has stated that he will add nothing new to the conversation.

To misquote RUSH (the band)..."Those who choose not to respond, still have made a response".

The things not said could be priceless.

Worse case, he says nothing and the questions are left hanging out there. If nothing else, the questions can help frame the discussion.

Middle case, he simply reiterates what is in the report which gets it into the public sphere in a audio/video format that is more news friendly than the text of the report.

Best case, he changes his mind and provides some additional information that could help clarify the issues.

My question would be this..."The report indicates that there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy. It also outlines a whole series of behavior that kept you from getting all of the information you needed to properly do your job. Is it possible that a conspiracy did take place and it was hidden from you due to obstruction? "

Having said all of that, I completely understand why Mueller would not want to be put into that position However, I do not think it should be up to him. After all, this is the root of why the Congress should continue investigating.

Yep. Besides, he already broke his vow to not comment beyond what's in the report. SunSeeker May 2019 #2

Nothing in his report says anything about Barr, yet in Mueller's statement today, he says Barr's decision to release the report was in "good faith":

We conducted an independent criminal investigation and reported the results to the Attorney General—as required by Department regulations.

The Attorney General then concluded that it was appropriate to provide our report to Congress and the American people.

At one point in time I requested that certain portions of the report be released. The Attorney General preferred to make the entire report public all at once. We appreciate that the Attorney General made the report largely public. I do not question the Attorney General’s good faith in that decision.

To say anything Barr did in this process was done in "good faith" is a damn lie. Mueller should be compelled to testify about that, and everything else Congress wants to talk about. It is not up to him to decide what Congress will question him about. Congress has a Constitutional right to subpoena his testimony, and Mueller is obligated by law to comply.

Mueller is really setting a terrible example by balking at testifying. It disregards the rule of law. So much for Mueller being a stickler for following the law!
