If the majority of the people wanted Trump impeached it would probably happen. The Republicans in the Senate would have a tough decision to make.
The only way to get the peoples attention is by having open hearings. Closed door hearings are not good enough. The people have to see all the liars testify under oath. There are a lot of liars, who would be exposed in an open hearing. That's how we get to impeachment. The people have to see it. Not read it.
I think ,I hope that is what Pelosi is planning.

(11,109 posts)GOP Senators do not care (at least not much) about national opinion polls. They will be concerned about public opinion in their individual states. Even then, if their state party base is opposed to removing Trump, they will support Trump unless the state-wide opinion is so overwhelmingly in favor of removal as to seriously threaten a general election loss.

The proffered political reasons for NOT impeaching Trump are not sound
