1) "tHe RuSshEr ThInG iS a CoMpLeTe hoKeS".
I doubt that we will be hearing that the "Russia investigation was a complete hoax started by 12 angry Democrats" too much anymore.
2) "Completely exonerated" seems to be changing to "innocent until proven guilty".
Give it a few days. I think that Trump was severely injured yesterday by Mueller's statement. And yes, I realize that all of this was in Mueller's report, but it somehow took hearing it from his lips to make a difference.

(15,645 posts)This is the beginning of the end for real this time. Yeah it will still take a while. Yeah it might actually go so long that we have to vote him out in 2020, bit his criminal and illegitimate administration is done for one way or the other. And he, his family, his businesses and other GOP cooperators are going to pay.

(19,201 posts)If not for Trump and CrimeInc. they very well may have found enough evidence of conspiracy with the Russians to convict him of that as well. I still think Mueller should have subpoenaed Trump for in-person interviews. Letting him get away with written questions that his lawyers could answer for him was complete and utter bullshit. Trump would certainly have spilled the beans. He's just about the dullest knife in the drawer, second only to his son Erik.

(1,896 posts)Go back and look what they were saying from before Mueller was hired, to his hiring, to each indictment or revelation that came out. It's a lesson in intellectual yoga. They can twist themselves into so many positions they should be contortionists in a circus. It's the only way they can deal with the fact that they support a traitor and a fraud. That and everyone is lying or biased so you can't believe anything bad about Trump. That's my story and I'm sticking to it-until I need to come up with another one.

(4,341 posts)I am convinced few of these politicians ever read whatever comes to their desks, I know they have people working for them but they seem to miss a lot.
Last night Rachel Maddow made a point that Democrats did not seem to know that one of the previsions that were imposed on the Special Council had to do with the indictment, or lack of power to indict the buffoon, it seemed to her that Democrats were counting on Muller to provide the clear verdict as a path to indict the buffoon and seem to have been surprised by it, which led her to believe they had not read the SC provisions.

(7,142 posts)is what accomplice Bill Barr has allowed us to see. We or Congress needs to see the entire Mueller report, the grand jury testimony and the counterintelligence report done by the FBI.
I understand the push to have Mueller testify before Congress, and I am all for that, but I would like to see other people on Mueller's team testify. I would definitely tune in to see Andrew Weissman take on Gym Jordan in a public hearing.

(8,360 posts)Trump proclaimed his innocence.
He left out "until proven guilty" in his tweet.
The thought of a Congressional investigation must terrify him. Right now he's fighting for his life in the court of popular opinion.

I still have a bone to pick regarding Drumpf's word choice.
There's a big difference between "innocent" and "not guilty". And i'd bet dollars to donuts that he's neither innocent or guilty.

(3,243 posts)If Mueller doesn't agree with the Barr summary, why doesn't he say so?
That one won't work anymore.
Barr getting out in front of the report and misrepresenting it was all they really had, and they knew it. The report itself does NOT exonerate Trump at all. In fact, it makes him look very bad.

(2,596 posts)We live in Dallas County (a marginally purple county deep in the still red-red state), but the most circulated newspaper is owned by a very right wing publisher. For this particular paper to print that headline above the fold and in big, big print is a big fucking deal.
I don't know whether this will hurt tRump or not. It certainly won't have any impact on the immovable 40-43% who are with him ride or die. The other people who broke with him in 2016 may be impacted though. I guess we'll have to see. Where it might make a difference, though, is on the down ticket races. Those rethugs who are backing his lard ass the most vociferously might suffer if they continue to keep defending him, and I think there will be some voters out there who may begin to start paying attention when he keeps fluffing Putin, Jong Un, the Saudis, and other autocrats over our traditional allies. But we shall see.
