The USS Trump should be launched covered when it is commisioned

Years from now when the Navy launches the USS Trump, it will be the second day that will live in infamy.

Some facts about the ship previewed below:

Type: Battleship
Displacement: Most ever
Length: Longest ever
Beam: Bigly
Draft: N/A - Bone spurs
Speed: Lot's of knots. More knots than my kids shoes
Range: Further than every ship ever. More than Obama's
Complement: More soldiers than any war ever
Electronic warfare & decoys: The best. Ever.
Armament: The best guns the NRA donated.
Armor: A bunch of armor. Like you have never seen.
Aircraft carried: One Trump Airlines 727.

to Graham, and other kiss ass senators, to get the next aircraft carrier named for him so that he sees it commissioned and in service while his carcass is still erect. Yes...he's that slimy.

Andrew Johnson
See also: SS President Johnson, commissioned as USS Manchuria (ID-1633) from 1918-1919.

William Howard Taft
Warren G. Harding
Calvin Coolidge
Herbert Hoover
Richard Nixon

Bill Clinton (still living)
George W. Bush (still living)
Barack Obama (still living)
Donald Trump (still living and in office)

snip

so (not counting Clinton onward)

the only ones who have NEVER had one named after them (or one that eventually was commissioned, even with a different name) are

William Henry Harrison (was only POTUS from March 4, 1841 – April 4, 1841)

John Tyler (succeeded William Henry Harrison, only served that partial term, the amazing thing is, even though he was born in the 1790, he STILL HAS LIVING GRANDCHILDREN)

Zachary Taylor (was only POTUS from March 4, 1849 – July 9, 1850)

Benjamin Harrison

William Howard Taft

Warren G. Harding (horridly corrupt)

Calvin Coolidge

Herbert Hoover

Richard Nixon (for obvious reasons)

in the naming of aircraft carriers, currently most often named for U.S. Presidents.

I sure as hell don't ever want a carrier named for GWB or Trump. So my proposal would be to discontinue naming carriers for U.S. Presidents, and to start a program to name new carriers after the states of the Union. The way they used to for battleships. Since we don't use battleships anymore, this would be a good way to continue to commemorate the states through their use as ship names.

A couple of provisos:

1. The naming would begin with each state's entry into the Union. So the carrier U.S.S. Delaware would be first, and the U.S.S. Hawaii would be last.

2. The state names Arizona and Utah would be omitted from the list, to honor the two ships sunk at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.

Miners could shovel the coal.

When I was little we had a coal furnace . We had a coal bin in the basement. My dad had to go down twice a day to shovel the coal in. What I remember was how dirty it was. It just got onto everything.
