Lindsey Graham challenger touts $270K haul in first 24 hours of campaign

Democrat Jaime Harrison said Thursday that he raised $270,000 in the 24 hours after announcing his bid to oust Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

The six-figure haul came from nearly 9,500 contributions, Harrison's campaign said, with an average donation size of just $29.

Harrison, who served as the first African American chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, formally announced his campaign this week with an online video in which he blasted Graham as a political opportunist who supported President Trump only after doing so became advantageous.

That video, Harrison's campaign said, has been viewed more than 1.1 million times.

Harrison's Senate bid is likely to be a tough one. South Carolina hasn't elected a Democrat to statewide office since 2006, and Trump won the state by 14 points in the 2016 presidential election.

His last race against Allison Grimes was close.

WE MUST OUST MCCONNELL.

THAT is the most important seat after Trump.

Only better, would be him keeping his seat, and a Democratic Senate Majority EXPELLING his worthless traitor ass from the Senate he loves so much..

Because there isn't enough pain in the universe to punish him for what he's done...would require all 6 infinity stones to get there heh.

I don't just want him gone. I want him IMPRISONED for the crimes he's comimitted against our democracy.

on us folks of limited means. We wish Mr. Harrison well and will support him as best we can but the Rethug plutocrats will be pouring billions into this campaign stretch, so we're going to have to dig deep - especially to try and Ditch Mitch.

Anyone else see the circle of pain inflicted here? tRump raises inflation with tariffs and increased cost of production, while the plutocrats keep our money from purchases and services and then pour it into right-wing politics (campaigns and media) - all of which are against our interest. Then, with less money in our pockets we have to counteract with massive numbers of small contributions to our many good Democrats.

It would take a lot of arm twisting to convince me that the Rethug minders don't plan it this way......
