I think this short video in Bill Kristol's tweet is very powerful.

(82,849 posts)If you're having a little buyer's remorse, why don't you start button-holing those fuckers in Congress with an "R" in their party affiliation and get in their face about their sanctimonious cowardice? So you cut an ad. Big deal.

(84,575 posts)Like that GOP convention slogan a few cycles back: You Built It.
YOU did, Kristol.
YOU did, Steve Schmidt.
YOU did, Rick Wilson.
YOU did, John Kasich.
YOU did, Mitt Romney.
YOU did, Kevin McCarthy.
YOU did, Omarosa.
YOU did, Steve Bannon.
YOU did, Reince Priebus and Michael Steele.
YOU did, every single one of you GOP talking heads and recovering pols with your book deals and blogs and TV shows.
And, you, too, Nicolle Wallace. You helped, too. And every one of you sniveling partisans who are probably absolving each other of any guilt because you do whisper your revulsion of him and your mea culpas in the cloak room, but youre right there gazing at him for photo ops as though you damn near wanted to drop to one knee and propose marriage.
You rode right along with it and didnt do a think to stop it. But many of you helped and contributed and supported and encouraged and campaigned and strategized toward exactly this kind of result, starting decades ago. If you worked to further the republi-CON agenda and world view at any point in the last 40 years, this - THIS is all yours. YOU helped make this happen.

(22,996 posts)These guys are still Republicans. They are spending their own money to air this ad.
Our Democrats need all the support we can give them in order to oust the traitorous Republicans that continue to support and cover for Trump.
This is just my modest suggestion as an American Democrat and an online DU ally.

(19,335 posts)I wouldn't go so far as to call Bill Kristol my friend, or any Democrat's friend for that matter, but if he helps bring Trump down I might consider him as an acquaintance.

I recall some of McConnell's lies and deceptions from his early years and the ones against John Kerry.....
Refreshng to see a few using it against their own..........

(14,605 posts)Deplorables have always taken any GOP dogma as truth (no matter how obvious a lie) and yet many will question this one and call it an ugly, doctored attack (although feedback on Krystol's Twitter page at this time seems positive).
Just noticed on his Twitter page that the video now has 1.45 million views.
I'm not on Facebook, but would be good to see it go viral there........

(37,648 posts)The other ones MAY step up to the plate. Maybe. Or at least stay away from the voting booths on election day.

(14,605 posts)I wonder how many of these big shots will vote for our candidates (presidential and congressional races) if Trump gets to run in 2020.
Neat video but let's see when and where it gets air time.

The Trumpers are lost souls. They have lost their way and fully support a fascist and con man. They are no longer here, so to speak. I view them as robots who exist to pull the Trump voting lever, and that is all.

(43,276 posts)Hell Id take not voting at all. But there just might be enough willing to work for a return to getting something done and repairing what can be repaired to vote their conscience.
With Russia and China rushing in to fill the huge holes hes leaving in trade Im worried more than I have been about our ability to recover.
