"Senate Republicans Won't Convict" is a very lame excuse.
Of course, the GOP won't convict. That's not as important as one may think.
Impeachment inquiry and proceedings will bring a lot of information to light. The public will learn more and more about the criminality of Trump as the proceedings go on. There will be damning evidence for all to see. The GOP will have to face the public. At the same time, Trump, GOP Sens, and GOP Reps will have to try and run a campaign for re-election. The press will hound the WH, and the Republicans. Major chaos, any way you look at it. Once all the evidence is in the public's ears and eyes, the GOP will have this choice --- Convict Trump, or attempt to convince an angry nation why they shouldn't.

1. Anyone who is a critical thinker
Knows that Republicans won’t vote to convict on the merits of the trial but will vote no to strictly stay in power.

2. It IS a lame excuse
Just because Senate Republicans will presumably shirk their constitutional duty doesn't relieve the House of its duty.

4. It depends. If we sent an impeachment to the Senate without adequate publicity
for the issues, it's worse than a mere waste of time: it's counter-productive. It could be OK for us, even if the Senate plays a hard partisan game, only if we have enough ongoing public education on the issues

6. Maybe the Senate Republicans, specifically Mitch McConnell and
Lindsey Graham need to be investigated, to find out what kompromat Trump and Putin have on them. I suspect it's some kind of Russian money laundering operation.
