Warning: This shows a father and his daughter lying dead at the border.I guess it depends on how many people see this, and understand that Trump is responsible. If these people would have been able to cross legally, (for whatever reason) and felt safe doing so, they would not be dead. Trump is responsible for setting up this situation. We all know that. Everyone knows this. This is it in my opinion. Very sad. And yes, I could be wrong. Yes, some people don't care, but most of us do care.

Better yet a full page ad showing the picture in Every major Newspaper in the U.S. for a week. Like on page two, just pay the extra charge for specifying what page your ad will appear. Of Course, I suspect, a large number of the Billboard and Newspapers would turn the ad down since they are owned/operated by rich Republicans........

Then there's the effect of tagging along with the loudest, most arrogant bullies, hiding behind them because they are saying things that you'd never say, but only think. And also, many of these Trump voters are not the same as those that attend these rallies. They vote Republican out of habit. All they need is the point form accomplishments of Trump, as laid out by the likes of Hannity and Rush. Sounds good to them. And the point form evil deeds of Democrats. Sounds bad to them. Der....Republicans good, Democrats bad.

Any infraction they feel is amplified to extreme proportions, ending up with something much different than what started it all. And we now know that they have a lot of help filling up the air space with their bullsh*t. It is so easy for me to get sucked in to the negative drama that is not real. I can't do it anymore. Realizing that all is definitely not as it seems, allows me to do life, the best I can. There is way more good, than bad.

(38,421 posts)that Trump is a heartless fool. So, his support goes from 40 down to 32 percent. (that is 20 percent lower) The closer Trump gets to 20 percent the better for all of us. Nixon was at 20 when he resigned. But many think that Trump won't resign. As things move along, they could get worse. I am not without hope. I also know that many are shocked at this picture. We will see. But I do believe there will be more pictures like this.

It may not be a lot from most perspectives, but if some supporters say, "This is enough of Trump for me." that would be an advancement. I know it won't be a large number, but some could abandon him. I think Trump will get much worse. I do not know when or how that will happen, but he isn't well, and acts that way. But I said earlier, I could be wrong. If his support goes down 20 percent it will be a step in the right direction.

If we had a President like this in the 70's, 80's or 90's he would be in the 20's. Something ugly happened to America over the past 20 years. And I think you can draw a straight line to Rupert Murdoch and Rush Limbaugh as a cause of it.
The evangelicals have totally sold out. Their numbers are diminishing but still represent millions. They have twisted the words of Jesus so much they are never going to be able to think straight again. A dead child in a river with his dead father doesn't even get through to them at this point. If there is an emotion it is aimed at somehow. someway with some incredibly complicated pretzel logic blaming the liberals.
The only answer I can see is to vote him out in a 2020 landslide.

Further, if people change their opinion on Trump from strong supporter to say, 'neutral" that would also be an advancement. Lastly, I do believe that some will change their opinion deep down because of this, and not tell anyone that he/she no longer supports Trump any more. This will take a while, and I do believe there will be more. But we will see.

But, no, it won't destroy Trump.
The NYT could post video of Border Patrol officers shooting immigrants and refugees for sport. It would do nothing.
Video could surface of abuse in the concentration camps - apart from the abuse done by their very existence. Children shackled. Children actually being beaten. It wouldn't destroy Trump or change a Republican's mind.
Take that photo. Another photo might surface of a white supremacist drowning a father and his daughter "yearning to be free." The RW would exult in it. Steve Bannon would say that he wears his support for those white supremacists like a badge of honor.
Not one single Republican legislator - state or federal - will utter a peep.
They are what will be called in a book in the 2030s entitled "The Good American."

And, then we need to use our resources to address the reasons that people are fleeing to our border so they won't continue to do so. That is the situation we have, and to say that the man and his daughter lying face down in the water "should have come in legally" is just so absurdly detached from the reality of the situation that it is a blatantly unacceptable falsehood to continue to apply that old Trump campaign talking point to this humanitarian situation. When I heard him say that I wanted to jump through the TV screen and choke him.
