I called my granddaughter a bit ago and then received a call back from her but with a non-working number. I know, because when I saw it wasn't her number, I called it. The operator came on and said it was not a working number.
How can they invade my privacy like that? This is going beyond bizarre.

(16,254 posts)Bad timing as I had called my granddaughter to let her know we had a death in the family. I'm in no mood for this kind of invasion.
Surely, something can be done to stop these clowns.

(16,254 posts)My caller ID gave me the number, but the name of the caller was supposedly my granddaughter. I knew it wasn't her number so I tried to call that number back. The operator came on and said that number was not a working number.
I assumed it was from a telemarketer. I get all kinds of versions on the caller ID...my city's name as the caller, my name as the caller, now one of my friends or relatives as the caller. If they can get my callers' names, I should be able to get their correct number, at least.

(33,643 posts)Or possibly they bought the info from a company ... have you ever, like, co-signed a loan for her? Or bailed her outta jail?
That is alarming shit though, for sure.

If they could get her phone's ID, the service should be able to get their name. Surely, this goes both ways.
