3. I met him a couple of times

as he was from my hometown. In 71 and 72 he occasionally pitched in our local Connie Mack team. We all ran over to the field when on breaks and lunch just to watch him. Awesome pitcher.

Bouton helped form the Vintage Base Ball Federation and was an early supporter of the sport that promotes baseball as it was orginally played, with the ideals of sportsmanship.
