Opposition and resistance are vitally necessary, but I’m ready for a break.

In a few days my husband and I are leaving the country for a few months. I might catch some news but I am not going to stay on top of it like I normally do. Well, I will probably read DU regularly - when I can get an internet connection.

Mostly for the last few months I have been watching streaming TV series, both old and new. It is decidedly good for my blood pressure.

I really can't. I feel damaged by him. However, that does not mean I am not going to do everything I can to get out the vote and to tear him down every chance I get.

I just need to pull away from time to time. He is so toxic. I honestly cannot wait until he is six feet under. I will rejoice at reading his obituary.

Slow down a couple of laps, walk with my hands on my hips for a couple of minutes, then get right back into it. Overexerting in this heat will kill you. But yes, I'm fatigued. Outrage is hard emotion to keep up. One thing is for certain, Trump and the republicans don't miss a day without giving the opportunity to kick it up a notch again.

This is the president who directs policy that affects over 300 million citizens.

His rhetoric matters because it reinforces every bigoted notion squirming through the minds and souls of his ever devolving base.

Every public evacuation of his face bowel weaponizes another hate-addled minion.

Yes its uncomfortable, yes its exhausting. But we must continue to shed a light on his foulness--because his supporters and recently regretful voters, that WE personally know, ignore it.

On FaceBook:

Snowflakes are the iceberg that will sink the trumptanic.

Keep falling from the sky, gentle crystals. The solidarity of light resolve will defeat the arrogance and hubris of the weaponized cowardice that would pretend at banners and slogans.

In your little corner, resist. In your heart be glad, for you are not alone.

He even looks a little like DT. Every day I take a mental baseball bat to his mug. I know it's not healthy. I hope natural causes take over real soon. Between the child molesters and rapists, it's old home week. I'd ask if it could get any fucking worse, but I know the answer, cause I'm not in a cell at the border.

The fools on TV, ALL of them, keep repeating his words as though they were reporting fact instead of delivering propaganda.
They do not think, nor add context, nor even fact-check. They simply cheer-lead our feelings about it all. The MSM and PBS alike.

I find it particularly painful to listen to them repeat his and the GOP lies as if there were nothing else to say. They are paid thousands of dollars to say it convincingly, sincerely, yet they cannot speak a simple truth about it such as the fact that he has not the authority he claims to issue some of the commands and directives. Those powers are within Congress or the Law and anyone with a public school civics class behind them could confirm it. He sets them up and they provide punchlines, over, and over, and over.

I spend time volunteering and helping people in the most simple and direct ways I can to feel as though at least something is being done.

I am tired to death of the rat fucking of the progressives by the DNC and the other apologists, too.

My, usually, good natured self is exhausted & exasperated by this shit stain. The part that really burns my butt is that his 'character' was totally known many years ago, if one was paying any attention. He's always been an a-hole and maroon! I never saw his TV 'show' thankfully - didn't even know about it. And even if I had, you couldn't have paid me to watch - but what butthole thought this was a good idea?

Talk radio is where they get their talking points. It is really a big thing around here. 24/7 turn on the radio and a dozen conservative talk shows across the band talking up Trump.

Mon Jul 15, 2019, 11:57 PM

It generates clicks, keeps people listening to and watching programs (and commercials) they never would ordinarily listen to or watch. It's a masochistic exercise. You watch/listen, get riled up, and ... what? What's the point? There's nothing you can do about any of it anyway. Why put yourself through it? Just unplug. Disconnect yourself from the outrage industry. Change the channel. Find something productive to do with your time (and life.) You can still keep up with important things by skimming headlines in normal places like your local newspaper. Avoid TV, especially cable "news" shows, which are really just opinion shows and are a major player in the outrage porn industry.
