(CNN) Trump's 2020 strategy: 'These People Hate Our Country'

Trump vs. 'the Squad' makes watershed moment in racial politics

These are people that, in my opinion, hate our country ... if they're not happy here, they can leave.

(snip) Trump created his White House moment on race with the windows of the Lincoln Bedroom, where the 16th President first read the Emancipation Proclamation to his Cabinet, over his left shoulder. One floor above him was the East Room where in 1964, President Lyndon Johnson vowed to "close the springs of racial poison" when he signed the Civil Rights Act.

In a later tweet, the President spelled out a chilling message demeaning the patriotism of the four lawmakers, Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Ayanna Presley of Massachusetts. Three of the group were born in the United States and all are US citizens.

"We will never be a Socialist or Communist Country. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE, YOU CAN LEAVE! It is your choice, and your choice alone. This is about love for America. Certain people HATE our Country," Trump wrote.

(snip) By refusing to back away from his attacks, Trump sought to make the squad the face of the Democratic Party in 2020. He is clearly hoping to use the group to carve divides between the Democrats and more moderate voters who might be troubled by the squad's left wing policies and his own interpretations of their radicalism.

They hate our country. They hate it, I think, with a passion. Now it’s possible I’m wrong; the voter will decide.

From trump and the gop. Next is attacking and hurting all minorities any way they can, and especially to women. He is showing everyone how cruel he'll be doing it also. Our government has no place for white supremacists or neo nazi's.

the twitter of my junior senator Marsha Blackburn to see if she had made a statement about Rapist45's racist tweet or had said anything of substance about her recent visit to the concentration camps. Of course she was silent on these issues, but her most recent tweet began "The millions of Americans who LOVE our country are why the United States is the best and most powerful country on earth." Marsha obviously got the memo and got busy shilling it.

Lindsey Graham is at it already, smearing "them" as communists, socialists, and several other terrible, awful, really bad things. It may work on their 3rd grade level voters. Makes a strong case for drastically shortening the length of unPresidential campaigns.

If George Washington and the Continental Army weren't happy with what the king was doing, why didn't they just leave?

but, we can't underestimate him, either. He managed to beat 14 or 15 other Republicans in the primaries in 2015/6 and then beat a far more qualified candidate in the general election.

Yes, he has a lot of help from Russia, but we can't pretend that's going to go away in 2020.

Trump dominates the news cycle nearly every day, most of the time for negative reasons. He did that throughout 2016 as well.

Democrats need somebody that can steal the headlines away from Trump on a regular basis.
