Then he will be arrested in New York State. Happy days are ahead, the gloom is fading .

(54,387 posts)Im worried about him retaining the presidency. Since the election of 2000, three times out of five, the two have not meant the same thing.

(50,273 posts)That's why I hate the polls putting our candidates ahead of the Orange Fuhrer. Hillary was ahead, too. By 3 million votes. And look at the fucking mess we're in. We also have to be 100% alert all the time for election meddling. It will happen again. I'm scared to death voting machines will be hacked.

(36,855 posts)Foreign involvement in our elections (in which McConnell is seemingly doing jack shit about), voter suppression/election fraud, a huge social media game by the Trump campaign, etc...

(5,275 posts)He almost certainly will lose the popular vote, but then he might win enough sparsely populated States to put him over the top in the idiotic Electoral College.....the dumb system where the winner can lose.

(15,421 posts)I think he'll lose, but no way will it be 1972 or 1984 margins. The country is far too divided now for anyone to lose 49 states.

(2,955 posts)Incumbents almost always win, and without some kind of massive stock market crash or war it's gonna be pretty hard to take him down. If things are going well people tend to vote for the known guy rather than an unknown, even if the known guy isn't perfect. People only seek radical change during bad times (economically speaking).
