Whether it's 2020 or 2024,

will the republican nominee be able to run independently of Donald Trump?

What if Trump is back in his role on The Apprentice and making commentary to his base, telling them who vote for?

Will his influence wane when he is decidedly a lame duck or will he continue to an influence beyond leaving the WH?

he will remain in politics and it will be way worse than being on the Apprentice. Trump will either have his own news network or news show, or he will get a prime time slot on Fox. I can picture Trump doing a Bill Maher-like show.
Trump will keep spreading his hatred until the day he dies.

trump is not their first leader and many are studying his methods.

he, and they, must be crushed at every level of politics, law, education, and economics because these are just a few things that they are totally convinced they are right about.
