conference yesterday. They could stil say what they said but they should have immediately pivoted the story.
They should have pointed out that everyone knows that when ever there is a story that terrifies Trump he will do and/or say anything to change the news being reported by the press. What is that terrifies Trump right now? The arrest and pending prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein. He doesn't want people asking just how did Epstein make his money? He doesn't want people asking if Epstein made his money via the old fashioned way - blackmail? He doesn't want people wanting to know just who did Epstein provide young girls to. He doesn't want people wondering what blackmail material he has and where is it located. Has the FBI obtained a searach warrant to look for evidence on the island he owns in the Virgin Islands (referred to by the locals at Pedophile Island). He doesn't want people focused on just why he made Acosta his Labor Secretary. They could have layed it on pretty thick. By the end of their news conference, the press is now even more focused on Epstein and Trump is now tied to him.
It would have been the verbal equivalent of lobbing a political grenade right into Trump's lap. It would have driven him crazy. And he acts totally stupid when he is crazy.
Democrats have to play the media game better than Trump. Make their story the bigger story.

(7,142 posts)they repeatedly said that what Trump was doing was a distraction from his failed policies. They repeated that theme over and over again.

(10,952 posts)They should have shoved Epstein right down his throat,
ICE Raids - don't look at Epstein
Nasty comments about anyone who stands up to him - don't look at Epstein
Trump, as stupid and vile he is, knows how to drive the news cycle.
Do a KellyAnne, anytime a Democrats need to learn to pivot to a unified response. Change the narrative, drive the story.
They need to be looking for reporters like Julie Brown who will become the 21st Century version of Woodward and Bernstein. I don't believe that you can rely on the tv MSM. But with the internet, all you need is a few go getter reporters to break a story nationwide.
